CARROLLTON ELEMENTARY FOOD PANTRY
In today’s economic climate there are numerous factors that contribute to a family's lack of food access. Some of these factors include, parental unemployment, unexpected financial emergencies, COVID-19 Pandemic, and food deserts. For many students who attend Carrollton Elementary, the food that is served during breakfast, lunch, and snack are most likely the only meals that they will receive for the day. While there are a handful of food drives and pantries that are run by local churches and shelters within PG County there are none that partner with local schools to provide easier and consistent access to food specifically for children and families. Jaiyeroof Inc. seeks to fill the gap by implementing a food pantry at Carrollton Elementary which will give students and their families a convenient option to gain access to healthy food options and to increase the amount of meals that Carrollton students are provided on evenings and weekends. Back 2 School Drive
Many families are still suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic. As the effects of the pandemic are still present families are presented with choosing to pay bills or purchasing school supplies. Over the past year, students have been learning virtually and as the 2021-2022 school year begins, we want to make sure students are equipped with the supplies to succeed during the academic year. L.E.T.S Feed Our People
The Bariga Community in Lagos, Nigeria suffers from widespread economic disparities that affect everyday needs, such as the basic need of food. Our Feed Our People Project targets individuals in Bariga to strengthen hunger security and provide long term solution to promote access to food. Since 2016 Jaiyeroof has provided food aid to over 1300 individuals in the Bariga community and surrounding areas. More information →
