PROJECT BARIGA.

#ProjectBariga is a 3-Day Vocational Training Program that occurs in the Bariga Community in Lagos, Nigeria. The program targets women that suffer from a greater economic disadvantage compared to their male counterparts. The program serves both the unemployed as well as working class adults who seek to improve their skills and their economic situations. The program offers opportunities for education and training in the following industries: catering, tailoring, natural body products, and cosmetology; with the aim that this will be the catalyst to ignite their entrepreneurial beginnings.

Since its inception in 2018, we have had over 100 applicants, with 75 applicants selected to participate in the program. After three days, each student is awarded a certificate of completion. Each instructor selects 2 to 4 students to participate in an extended 3-month internship to further their knowledge in their selected trade. Our program graduates have been successfully placed in fields that enable them to launch careers with clear pathways for advancement.
